If you like instrumental underground Hip Hop Knxwledge is somebody you need to keep your eye on, his style is second to none and definitely ranks up there with some of the most interesting Hip Hop that has been coming out of the West Coast for a long time. Knxwledge made his name on Bandcamp, Soundcloud and at the Low-end theory nightclub, which has spawned a special hub of talent from Los Angeles includeing artists, like Ras G, Jon Wayne, Mndsgn, Flying Lotus, and Zero. One of the first LP’s Knxwledge created “Hexual Healings” was a hit to me, and stayed on my decks for a while before mixing down to my iPod, and it stayed there for ages. Knxwledge also has produced hits for Joey Bada$$ with a track called “Killuminati” that was off the "1999" mixtape. Knxwledge also appeared on the album “To pimp a Butterfly” by Kendrick Lamar with credits on the track “Momma”. Knxwledge followed “Hexual feelings” with the solo instrumental album Hud Dreams, this album was released on the prestigious Stones Throw label earlier this year after Knxwledge signed for them. I am always on the look out for Knxwledge’s work after these hit records, and “Anthology” sounds amazing and doesn’t disappoint at all. The Lp is a mix of old instrumentals from Knxwledge’s Bandcamp curated a few years before the album “Hud Dreams” and lists around 50 tracks and sounds sumptuous on vinyl and each track really blends well and is an easy on the ear mix that flows very nicely. Previously the album “Anthology” was on cassette tape and sold out according to stones throw, So hear is another chance to listen to the album on vinyl or on YouTube whichever you prefer, overall it’s a fantastic piece of music and artistically put together to really take you on a journey. Knxwledge is definitely someone to lookout for in Hip-Hop in 2016 and Anthology gets thumbs up from me with a 5 stars rating.
